Novacroft Properties Limited trading as Buckingham Properties complies with the Right to Rent requirements set out by the Home Office under the Immigration Act 2014 and Immigration Act 2016.

This policy explains how we ensure that all adult occupiers of rented property have the legal right to rent residential accommodation in England.

2. Who This Applies To

Right to Rent checks apply to all tenants and adult occupiers (18+) who will live at the property as their main home, regardless of nationality.

3. Our Right to Rent Checks

Before the start of a tenancy, we will:

• Obtain original or valid digital right to rent documents
• Verify documents are genuine and belong to the individual
• Retain clear copies securely for compliance purposes

Where time-limited rights apply, follow-up checks will be carried out as required.

4. Acceptable Documents

Acceptable documents are those listed by the Home Office and may include:

• British or Irish passport
• Biometric Residence Permit
• Share Code generated via the Home Office online system

5. Data Protection

All personal data collected during Right to Rent checks is:

• Processed lawfully and securely
• Used solely for legal compliance
• Retained only for the legally required period
