Established in 1989, by Jonathan Braff, a budding Entrepreneur, Buckingham Properties opened its first office in West Hampstead, North West London. It started by managing half a dozen properties on behalf of landlords.
In 1991 Jonathan moved the office to St. John’s Wood, North West London and carried on acquiring more properties.
Having previously owned a property company and taken a break to start a family, Kathy Brown started working in Buckingham Properties in the winter of 2000 doing the administration for the company. She then went on to do the company’s book keeping and slowly became a full-time member of staff.
In 2006 Kathy took over the running of all day-to-day duties as Jonathan was taken seriously ill and in 2013 Kathy purchased Buckingham Properties and took over the office in Violet Hill. In 2018 Kathy moved the office from Violet Hill to Acacia Road.
Buckingham Properties has continued to flourish and now boasts a portfolio in excess of 70 properties, both managed and rented, as this family-run company is growing year-on-year.
Still based in St. John’s Wood, Buckingham Properties now covers a number of areas in London, including, but not limited to, St. John’s Wood, Hampstead, Golders Green, Hendon, Cricklewood, Kilburn, Camden, Bayswater and Brondesbury.
Although the company mainly focuses on Property Management and Lettings, Buckingham Properties can also help you with Property Sales, having sold numerous properties over the years.
The total management service for landlords includes letting your property, taking up full references, checking the tenant in and making sure the maintenance is covered throughout the term of the rental. Should you want additional services added, such as inventory checks, this can be discussed with your property account manager.
In 2021 Gemma joined the company as Tenant Liaison and assists all tenants with their enquiries.
At the end of 2021 Kathy announced that she would be retiring within the next 12 months so her son, Nick, joined Buckingham Properties in July 2022 to take over the day-to-day running of the business. Having previously been involved in the business over the years Nick now works alongside Gemma to keep this as a family-run business.
